A Life in Southern Rock
Eddie Stone is a seasoned singer, songwriter, Hammond organist, pianist, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist whose career runs deep through Southern rock history. His life in music began early, playing guitar and singing with The Nightriders as a teenager in the mid-1960s, and continued into a lifetime of stages, studios, songs, and collaborations.
By age 13, Eddie was already playing guitar and singing with his first band, The Nightriders, performing local skating rink gigs in the mid-1960s and getting his first taste of paid live performance.
A Hammond organ player since the late 1960s, Eddie brings a feel and authenticity to the instrument that can only come from a lifetime of performance. His career has carried him through major tours, studio sessions, solo recordings, longtime band roles, and collaborations across Southern rock, blues, soul, and roots music.

The Hammond Sound
A Hammond organ player since the late 1960s, Eddie brings the instrument's warmth, grit, soul, and power into Southern rock, blues, studio recordings, and live performance.
From road stages to recording rooms, the Hammond has remained one of the defining threads in Eddie's sound. His playing brings together feel, restraint, fire, and the kind of authenticity that only comes from decades behind the keys.
Founding Member of Doc Holliday
As a founding member of Doc Holliday, Eddie helped shape the sound of an internationally recognized Southern rock band with a strong following across the U.S., Europe, and Scandinavia.
His work with the band included keyboards, Hammond organ, vocals, songwriting contributions, and guitar on select tours. Doc Holliday's career brought Eddie to major stages across the U.S. and Europe, sharing bills with legendary acts and building a lasting place in Southern rock history.
Strong European and Scandinavian following with major shared stages including Black Sabbath, The Outlaws, Gregg Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughan, April Wine, and Loverboy.

Stillwater Roots
Eddie's history with the musicians who would become Stillwater goes back to his early Macon years. Before Stillwater took shape, several future members were part of a high school production band known as The Stage Band, formed around the Follies.
The group included Mike Causey, Sebie Lacey, Daniel "Bud" Ford, and a young guitarist named Rob Walker, whose talent they quickly recognized.
Eddie was later drafted into the United States Army in 1972 as a Vietnam-era veteran, taking him away before Stillwater's next chapter unfolded. Decades later, that shared history remains part of why he continues to join Stillwater for reunion performances.
